New software to help efficiency

We are having a new database software package custom built for our business which should really help integrate a number of our daily issues, allowing us to become even more efficient. We have also applied for permission for a new mussel site which will give us more room to thin out product, which would give some extra potential capacity.

EFF Funding approved for new machinery

The Scottish Government have announce the latest EFF Awards, Blueshell are delighted that their application for EFF Funding for their factory extension and some new innovative processing machinery has been support funded by the European Fisheries Fund. This is essential in allowing us to develop our facility which will give us a huge lift in further accelerating the business.

New staff employed in scallop factory

The highlight this month was being able to give six staff work in our scallop factory. These experienced fish processing operatives had been involved in another long established processing business, which sadly was facing a downturn in throughput.

Now processing scallops!

Our new season mussels are available and we are fully operational! Our mussel lines are really heavy with our new stock, and our machines and buildings are all looking smart ready for the new season. We have purchased and installed a new machine which allows us to brand our mussel nets with our new logo as well as allowing us to pack the bags tighter, this will help minimize mussel gaping, therefore giving better quality.

Our factory extension is also finished and we have begun processing Scallops. No special opening ceremony, just induction training and work!
